Q: Do I have to have impressions done for Invisalign?

A: No. Our advanced technology is used with specialized software to scan your mouth and create a plan for your aligners. You’ll be able to view the plan on the computer and see a rendering of the optimal result.

Q: Do you give me the aligners so I can just use them on my own?

We give you sets of aligners with instructions for how long to wear each one before moving to the next. At your appointments, we will check your progress, decide if mid-course corrections should be made, and provide the next series of aligners.

Q: How long does Invisalign treatment take?

A: Like braces, it depends on the individual. On average, treatment lasts 12-18 months.

Q: Do I have to wear the aligners all the time?

A: You may remove them to eat, brush and floss your teeth, and clean your aligners. To achieve the best results, you must wear them at least 22 hours per day.

Q: How should I clean the aligners?

A: Use a small amount of toothpaste and a soft toothbrush to brush all of the surfaces gently. Do not use hot water, which can warp the aligners.

Q: How often will I change aligners?

You’ll use a new series of aligners that is dependent on your treatment progress. This may vary from every week to every two weeks.

Q: Will I need a retainer?

A: Yes. A retainer will be needed to ensure your teeth stay in position.

Q: Can anyone wear Invisalign?

A: Each patient has specific needs, and Invisalign will work for some and not others. Ask Dr. Hoskinson if Invisalign is right for you.
